Cellulite Q & A

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is fat pockets beneath your skin. You have fibrous tissue bands that join your skin and muscle, and over the years, those bands can become tight and inflexible. This causes fat to work through openings in the fibrous tissue bands, leading to the dimpled cellulite that appears on your skin.

Having cellulite isn’t an automatic result of being overweight. Even very thin women and men can develop cellulite. Unfortunately, cellulite doesn’t respond to weight loss in most cases. But, the good news is that Women First Weight Loss & Lipo Center offers the first and only cellulite treatment that addresses the actual cause of cellulite, Cellulaze.

What is Cellulaze?

Cellulaze is a minimally-invasive laser-assisted treatment designed specifically for the reduction of cellulite. This treatment is scientifically backed, with extensive clinical data saying that Cellulaze is both safe and effective for cellulite reduction.

Cellulaze is different from other procedures because it actually treats the fibrous tissue bands deep beneath the skin, while other cellulite treatments only address your superficial layer of fat.

How does Cellulaze cellulite reduction work?

You receive local anesthesia for Cellulaze treatment, which keeps you very comfortable. Cellulaze treatment starts with Dr. Corney at Women First Weight Loss & Lipo Center marking the treatment areas, which can include anywhere that you have cellulite, such as the thighs, abdomen, or buttocks. Then, she makes a few very small incisions, approximately the size of a pen tip, in the treatment area.

Dr. Corney carefully inserts an ultrathin cannula (tube) into the incisions and threads a hair-thin laser fiber through the cannula. The laser fiber does two important things: it disconnects the fibrous tissue that’s become stuck together, and it incites your natural collagen remodeling process to smooth out the dimples.

What can I expect after cellulite reduction?

After Cellulaze treatment, you wear a compression garment around the treated part of your body. You may have a small amount of discomfort and bruising, but most patients get back to their regular routine after only one to two days.

In clinical tests, Cellulaze increased skin thickness 25%, and improved skin elasticity by 29%. These two things combine to give you a dramatic reduction in cellulite, with steady improvement over a 3-12 month period.

You can expect results lasting for a year or more. Ninety-three percent of Cellulaze patients were happy or very happy with their results a year after the treatment and said that they’d recommend this cellulite reduction treatment to friends.
